Emergency Plumber Medowie

Medowie Plumbing Co takes emergency plumbing calls across Medowie at any hour: burst pipes, overflowing sewers and septic tanks, failed hot water and gas faults. A licensed plumber comes out carrying the gear for what you described, and you hear a fixed price before a tool comes off the truck.

What counts as an emergency call?

Not every plumbing problem needs a midnight truck roll, but these do, and we treat each one as a right-now job:

Burst pipes and split flexi hoses

Water pouring through a ceiling or flooding a kitchen gets the fastest response we can manage.

Sewer or septic overflow

Effluent surfacing in a yard or around a tank is a health matter that cannot wait for a booked slot. Our blocked sewer page covers the underlying causes.

No hot water in a full house

A dead cylinder on a cold night is urgent for a family, and our hot water crew handles repairs and replacements.

Gas smells

If you can smell gas, get everyone outside first, then ring. The safety steps are on our gas leak page, and that page is worth reading before you need it.

Stormwater backing up into the house

When the yard and the stormwater drains start returning rain indoors, that is an emergency, not a nuisance.

Not on that list? Ring and describe it, and we work out with you whether it needs a truck tonight or a booked visit tomorrow.

Burst pipe? What to do before we arrive

A burst pipe is the call we gear the whole emergency service around, and the first ten minutes are yours.

  1. 1

    Stop the water

Close the main tap at the water meter. On a long acreage run where the meter is hard to reach, close the isolation valve on the hot water service instead.

  2. 2

    Drain the pressure

Open an outside tap on the low side of the house so trapped water has an exit that is not your floor.

  3. 3

    Keep power away from water

If water is near power points or appliances, switch those circuits off at the switchboard and stay clear of anything live that got wet.

  4. 4

    Move what you can

Get rugs, boxes and electrical gear out of the wet path, then call and describe what you can see: where the water comes from and how fast.

That description matters. A braided hose that let go behind a washing machine takes minutes, while a burst line buried under a house on sandy ground takes digging, and the truck gets loaded for whichever one you describe.

What wet ground does to an emergency here

Flexi hoses fail in waves

The estate stages that filled this town went up in quick contract runs, and the braided connectors under all those kitchens and laundries are hitting their failure years together. When one lets go, the flooded room is usually found fast. The catch is that the same hose sits under the neighbour's sink too.

Flat streets flood first

Long-run averages put annual rainfall at 1,139 millimetres, and with the water table sitting close to the surface on the flats around Moffats Swamp Nature Reserve, a serious storm leaves drainage with nowhere to go. Overflow emergencies cluster on the flattest streets, where rain that should sheet away pools against slab edges instead.

Cold snaps find the weak cylinder

Inland winter nights here get genuinely cold for the coast, and an old cylinder or a tired heat pump that limped through autumn gives up on the first sharp morning. That call can come before the school run, and the phone is answered then too.

What happens from the first ring

  1. 01

    Ring or send the form

Call (02) 4063 1093 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.

  2. 02

    A fixed price first

A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.

  3. 03

The right fix on the spot

We isolate the fault, stop the water or gas, and repair it with the gear already on the truck, then clean up the wet mess before we go.

  4. 04

    Covered for a year

Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.

What drives the price after dark?

Emergency pricing is honest pricing, and the drivers are the same ones we name on every quote.

  • After-hours timing Night, weekend and public holiday work is priced differently, and that number is named before we load the truck.
  • Access to the fault A burst hose behind a laundry tub is quick to reach; a split line beneath a raised timber floor in sandy soil takes excavation and time.
  • Parts on the truck If the repair needs a valve, a section of pipe or a replacement hose, what is carried versus ordered changes the figure.
  • The follow-on work A burst sometimes reveals a line that was already failing, and fixing that properly is quoted as its own job, never slipped onto the invoice.

When We're Not the Right Call

A break in the water main on the street side of your meter is for the water authority to fix, so if that is what you describe, you get that answer on the phone instead of a truck. Wet wiring or a tripped switchboard is an electrician's job, even when water caused it. Ring anyway if you are unsure, because sorting who should come is faster than a wasted visit.

What Customers Say

Available 24/7 has to hold at two in the morning when a pipe lets go, not just in business hours. That promise is only worth anything if it holds on the worst night of your year.

I commend them for their very fast and efficient service when we had a burst pipe.

Emergency questions, answered plainly

Should I turn the water off at the meter before you arrive?

Yes, if you can reach the meter safely. Shut the main tap there, then open a garden tap to drain the pressure off the burst section. Acreage blocks can have the meter a long way from the house, so if it is not easy to find, turn off the valve on the cylinder instead and tell us when you ring.

Is an overflowing septic system an emergency?

It is. Effluent at the surface from a waterlogged tank or trench is a health risk that should not wait its turn on a booking list, especially in wet weather when the ground is already saturated. Ring us and say it is a septic overflow so the right gear gets loaded for the run out to you.

How is an after-hours emergency call priced?

After-hours work has its own rate, and you are told that rate before anyone is sent. The repair itself is then quoted as a fixed price on site, and the invoice shows that same price if you go ahead.

Can you bring a temporary hot water system if mine dies overnight?

Yes. If a cylinder or heat pump has failed beyond repair, we can fit a temporary hot water tank so the household is not in cold showers while the replacement is organised. That gets discussed on the call, along with the fixed figure for doing it.
